God's Culture
Auden Lujan is from Mexico. His wife Wendy is from the United States. Together, they serve as missionaries in Peru. So, how have they managed to work through a long list of potential cross-cultural issues? I like what Auden says on today's Footsteps:
"It really has not been as difficult for us because we have decided that we're just going to do it God's way. It's not Wendy's culture. It's not Auden's culture. It's not Peru's culture. It is God's culture."
Think about that perspective. Sure, every people group or culture has its own unique characteristics and traditions. Food and clothing quickly come to mind. But, concerning matters such as marriage, family, friendships, work, and religion, the Bible must be our ultimate authority. That's where we learn about God's culture which truly is the best culture of all.
