Kate Mitchell spent several years as a teacher in Pakistan, and on today's Footsteps, Kate talks about how she and her husband treated "the house help."  Because they cared about the living and working conditions of a Pakistani woman who served in their house, this woman "was very moved by the fact that her life was important" to her employers.  In fact, she eventually accepted Christ as her Savior!  Let's not forget Kate's example.  The way that we treat those who work underneath us matters.  Not only does it matter to them, but it matters to God as well.  While the following verse applies directly to "slaves" and "bondservants," I certainly think it is applicable to employees in general: "Masters, give your bondservants what is just and fair, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven" (Colossians 4:1, NKJV).
