Branko challenges me.  Every time I have the opportunity to spend time with Branko Bjelajac, TWR's vice president for Europe, CAMENA(1), and Africa, I learn something--especially concerning Church history.  On one occasion, in between sessions at TWR's National Partner's Conference for the Americas region on Bonaire, Branko taught me about "modernity" and "postmodernity."  According to Branko, the age of modernity began with the fall of the Bastille in Paris in 1789 and ended with the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989.

So what's the point?  During the days of modernity, a Christian would rationally explain his faith, and the listener would conisder what he/she heard.  The emphasis was on evangelism.  But many who claimed to accept Christ during the days of modernity are no longer part of the Church.  So now, in this postmodern age, we must take a different approach--one which concentrates more on discipleship.

I think you'll learn more on this subject as you listen to today's program.
