Come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand. – Psalm 95:6-7

Most Christians view worship as an event instead of a lifestyle. But our hour of corporate worship isn’t supposed to replace our individual everyday lives of worship. Sunday morning should launch us into a week of worship. Worship is a lifestyle, not an event.

To be filled with the Holy Spirit and have a heart full of worship for our great God and King, we must be like a car pulling up to a filling station to receive a full tank of gasoline. Once we’re filled up, do we park our vehicle and sit there the rest of the week? No, we go to a filling station to get what we need to leave the station. We have a destination, and we need a full tank to get there.

A problem occurs when we leave the station. As soon as we walk out of our Sunday worship, we begin to burn up the fuel. Our relationships, inner turmoil, or work situations may burn it up.

When we leave our church, we are full of God’s presence and glory from our time in corporate worship. But Satan’s job is to steal that fuel. The worst thing we can do is wait until next Sunday to worship. We need to drink continually to stay filled.
