Radicalism Versus Radical Love
I've heard it said that you fight fire with fire. While the phrase sounds catchy, and it sometimes works, fighting fire with fire is not always the best solution to a blazing forest or human conflict. For instance, what's the best way of handling the radicals of a different faith who are terrorizing Christians in several African countries? According to TWR's Branko Bjelajac, the only way to deal with radicalism is through "radical love. There is no other message in the Bible." Though "radical love" might not be our first and natural response, Branko is right about the fact that it is the biblical approach. Here's how Jesus put it: “You have heard that it was said, Love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you" (Matthew 5:43-44, HCSB). Please pray today for TWR as we share the radical love of Christ with these radicals in Africa.
