One of the worst sins of all is to apostatize—to publicly and vehemently deny the faith. It doesn’t get much worse than that. When you look at all the things God has done for us, in our salvation, in our provision, in our protection to deny our association with Him or to marginalize Him is the ultimate insult.

Yet, God loves us so much that He is willing to forgive that. If that is the worst thing that God is willing to forgive, then whatever else you have done, He is looking forward to forgiving you. There’s only one thing that God can’t forgive us for, and that is the total rejection of Jesus Christ (Mark 12:9-10). Even still, if you’ve not made a final rejection of Him, and you need His forgiveness for something in your life no matter how hideous it may seem to you, He’s ready to stand with you. Just like He stood with the apostle Peter on the Sea of Galilee. He cooked him some breakfast and restored him not only to life but to ministry. Jesus is willing to do what some Christians aren’t: to restore. He wants to give you a second chance, to give you hope in spite of how bad your sin, rejection or circumstance happens to be.

I want to invite you to come home to a place where the Father has His arms open, where He’s ready to welcome you, embrace you and accept you because you’ve come back to Him. I don’t care how bad it is. I don’t care how low you’ve sunk. I don’t care how deep the hole is. God knows how to reach down, lift you up, pull you out, clean you off and then on top of all that, use you.
