Within the body of Christ, what does it mean to "empower" a local church?  Kevin White, the founder and executive director of Global Hope India (GHI) describes empowerment as "providing some type of tangible expression of the Gospel that that local church would not otherwise be able to share."  GHI empowers local churches in India by taking short-term mission teams to partner with them.  You'll hear more about it on today's Footsteps.  But, let's make this concept of empowerment personal.  How has God created and equipped you?  Through the power of the Holy Spirit, what specialized or unique type of ministry, service, or work can you provide your local church?  Could it be that's why God has placed you in that particular church body?  It's certainly something to think and pray about!
