Our Powerful Advocate
We probably would not believe the number of people who are seeking to know the future. They worry about tomorrow because they feel out of control today. While they may not be world leaders or CEOs of large companies, they are on a personal power quest, devising ways to gain more power and to keep from losing the power they presently have.
Unless a person is trusting Jesus Christ with every area of his life, having more of the world’s power will do him no good. A great position on a corporate ladder will not save him from death. But true power—the power that only God provides—saves us from an eternal death and from making some very poor decisions.
When we place our faith in God’s Son and trust Him to hear our prayers for forgiveness, we are saved by His wondrous grace. He forgives our sins and enables us to live a very powerful life. This is because, when we accept Christ as our Savior, God sends His Holy Spirit to live within our lives.
We no longer have to face life alone. Someone very powerful is facing it with us. When you need guidance for your life, God will provide the wisdom you need as you pray. Trust Him, and you will find that He will guide your every step. This is a powerful Truth, and it is the reality of God’s power at work in your life.
The power that God infuses into your life is the same power that He used to raise Jesus from the grave. He has given His Spirit to you so that you might have authority and influence in your world. Therefore, don’t get bogged down by the circumstances of life. You have a powerful advocate through prayer. Jesus Christ is our personal source of life-changing power.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for the hope that You have given me through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Help me to remember that all the strength and power that I need is available through You. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?” (1 Corinthians 6:19).
