A Full-Service Station
When I was a boy, most gas stations were "full-service." When my parents would pull up to the pump, a gas station attendant would "fill'er up" with fuel, check the oil, and clean the windshield. That type of service had mostly ended by the time I started driving.
In terms of radio, most stations these days focus on one programming niche such as a particular style of music, and that's about all the listener hears. But, there are still some full-service radio stations on the dial. An example would be Radio 4VEH in Haiti. As you listen to today's Footsteps with guests Storly and Kate Michel, notice all the different types of programs their station offers. With a station like 4VEH, a listener never has to tune anywhere else to get what he or she needs.
