On today's Footsteps, Stoyko Petkov of Studio 865 (TWR's national partner in Bulgaria), talks about people being "so greedy."  But, you don't have to live in Bulgaria to harbor greed in your heart.  In fact, the world is full of greedy individuals.  I would say that most of us have been greedy at one time or another.  Here are a few verses to remind us about the dangers of greed.  I encourage you to meditate on them today.

"Then he (Jesus) said to them, “Watch out!  Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”  (Luke 12:15, NIV)

"But godliness with contentment is great gain.  For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.  But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.  Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.  For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.  Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs."  (1 Timothy 6:6-10, NIV)

"What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?"  (Mark 8:36, NIV)
