"When a man is addicted to porn," maintains Lonnie Berger, "he's imprisoned in something that he just can't get out of unless the Lord steps in and helps him."  That's the way today's Footsteps begins.  Lonnie's statement is both bleak and hopeful.  Let's focus on the encouraging part, that is, when "the Lord steps in and helps him."  You see, there is help and hope.  May I get personal?  Are you struggling with pornography.  Let me direct you to Psalm 40 where David praises God for delivering him from "a horrible pit."

"I waited patiently for the LORD;
And He inclined to me,
And heard my cry.
He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
Out of the miry clay,
And set my feet upon a rock,
And established my steps.
He has put a new song in my mouth—
Praise to our God;
Many will see it and fear,
And will trust in the LORD."  (Psalm 40:1-3, NKJV)

While you are in the pit of pornography, cry out to God.  Meditate on His Word.  Talk and pray with some believers you trust.  And, check out Every Man A Warrior where you will find resources to help.
