On today's Footsteps, we hear the testimony of a TWR listener in Africa, and as you will discover, this listener is struggling with sin.  "Please pray for me," she pleads, "I am bound to the things of the world and want to get out, but it is hard for me."

Can you relate?  Do you feel bound in chains to the sin of this world?  Know this fact: you can never overcome sin in your own strength.  You must rely on the power, strength, wisdom, forgiveness, and grace of God through Jesus our Savior.  Let me give you two verses on which to meditate:

"He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness.  By his wounds you have been healed.  For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls."  (1 Peter 2:24-25, ESV)

As you read these verses, remember that Jesus bore your sin on the cross.  He paid the penalty for your sin.  He died in your place!  And, "by His wounds," not by your best effort, you can experience healing for your sin-scarred soul.  You can experience victory over the sin of this world ... through Jesus!
