Worth Something
On today's Footsteps, Dr. Peggy Banks, the Global Director for TWR Women of Hope, tells the story of a very dysfunctional family in Turkey. As you listen to the program, notice that the father told his daughters that "they were not worth loving." That's horrible! But what's even worse is that there are millions of other children who have been treated in the same way. Is there something or someone in your past or present that has made you feel worthless? Then spend a few minutes meditating on the following verses:
"For You formed my inward parts;
You wove me in my mother’s womb.
I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Wonderful are Your works,
And my soul knows it very well.
My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth;
Your eyes have seen my unformed substance;
And in Your book were all written
The days that were ordained for me,
When as yet there was not one of them.
"How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!" (Psalm 139:13-17, NASB)
Our Heavenly Father "skillfully" created you, and His work was, and is, "wonderful." You are not worthless. You are valuable. That's Biblical truth!
