Our Father
There is a story about a Roman emperor who was parading through the streets of the imperial city. On both sides of the street were tall legionnaires to hold back the masses of people in the streets. Along the road stood a platform for the royal family.
As the emperor’s chariot approached the platform, his youngest son ran from the platform and jumped into the crowd to try to get to the chariot. When he reached the soldiers, one scooped him up and said, “What do you think you’re doing? Do you know whose chariot this is? This is the emperor!”
The little boy looked at the solider and said, “He may be your emperor, but he is my father.”
Do you call God your Father? Are you living like a child of God Almighty? Are you experiencing an end to fear as you draw near to God and receive hope and confidence in your time of need? Take a few moments to reflect on the ways you acknowledge God as your Father daily.
Prayer: Father, sometimes it is difficult for me to grasp that I am a child of God Almighty. Thank You that I can run to Your arms any time of day or night and know that Your arms will always be outstretched to me. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” (1 John 3:1).
