Branko Bjelajac heads up TWR's work in Africa, and on today's Footsteps, he points out that "In some of the countries we are reaching, ... the situation with electricity is difficult, and thus we try to provide for them radios that are wind up."  Not only have I seen and held these wind up radios, but I personally have helped distribute them in Malawi, and I can tell you, these radios are treasured by their recipients!
