In the African country of Malawi, "a home that does not have a bicycle, does not have a radio set, it means it's not a full home," maintains Victor Kaonga, the National Director for TWR-Malawi.  While I was traveling with Victor in Malawi, he suggested we stop at a particular house to see if the family needed a radio.  Why this house?  It had a thatched roof with homemade bricks made from mud.  We pulled in, parked our minivan next to the house, and asked if the family owned a radio.  Victor's suspicions were correct.  They did not.  So, we gave them a wind up radio, and Victor demonstrated to them how to use it.  If you'll study the photo of the family, you'll see a bicycle in the background.  Now that they also possess a radio, they have a "full home!"
