Keeping Holiness
I met Phillip on a sidewalk next to a streetside market in Lilongwe, Malawi. Phillip is a faithful listener to TWR-Malawi. During our conversation, which is featured on today's Footsteps, Phillip said that TWR helps him in "keeping holiness." What does he mean? In Psalm 29:2 (NKJV), David writes, "Give unto the LORD the glory due to His name; Worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness." Since our God is holy, He is best worshiped and glorified when we live holy or Christlike lives. C.H. Spurgeon explained,
"Of old, worship was cumbered with ceremonial, and men gathered around one dedicated building, whose solemn pomp was emblematic of 'the beauty of holiness;' but now our worship is spiritual, and the architecture of the house and the garments of the worshippers are matters of no importance; the spiritual beauty of inward purity and outward holiness being far more precious in the eyes of our thrice holy God. O for grace ever to worship with holy motives and in a holy manner, as becometh saints!"(1)
For Phillip, TWR-Malawi helps him live a life of holiness. If you are struggling to live in "inward purity and outward holiness," I encourage you to give Christian radio a try. By regularly listening to solid Biblical teaching and inspirational music, I have no doubt that your life will be changed for the better!
