How Bad Do You Want It?
If you’ve ever been involved in sports, or if you follow sports at all, you will know that a regular question asked when a sports team is ready to head into competition is: how bad do you want it?
It’s a question about desire. It’s a question about drive. It’s not first and foremost a question about skill, preparation or strategy. Rather it’s a question about passion, need—even craving.
God truly wants to know how badly you want Him.
The answer to this question will often make or break a player or a team. And when it comes to knowing God, this is a question that will define everything.
God truly wants to know how badly you want Him. Are you satisfied with a cavalier God? Or are you satisfied with a casual relationship? Or do you long for something more––something with fire, passion, electricity and energy?
Knowing God involves an intentional quest for intimacy.
Far too many believers are satisfied with simply being church goers, on their way to heaven. As a result, they can never talk about their experience with God in history. They don’t truly know Him as He desires to be known. This is because knowing God comes through effort, pursuit and desire. It’s not merely flipping open your Bible and looking for a verse a day to keep the devil away. Knowing God involves an intentional quest for intimacy. The question for you is, “How bad do you want it? How bad do you really want to know Him?”
