From Darkness to Light
My high school english classes consisted primarily of reading novels and writing papers about them. That's what we did over and over and over again. I clearly remember having to write one paper about an author's use of "light" imagery in one of his novels. I'm sure that was a dull paper! Well, let's contrast my english class excercise with a different "light," the "Light"--Jesus. As Thru The Bible President Gregg Harris explains on today's Footsteps, "This is not some theoretical excercise. These are people being changed from darkness to light." You see, when a listener hears the Word of God through TTB on TWR and accepts Christ as his/her Savior, a very real, eternal change takes place. The apostle Paul puts it this way in Ephesians 5:8a (ESV): "for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord." Amen.
