The Greatest Journey
In Mark chapter 5, we read about Jesus' feeding of the five thousand. But before Jesus performed His miracle by feeding the huge crowd with just five loaves and two fish, we read:
"And Jesus, when He came out, saw a great multitude and was moved with compassion for them, because they were like sheep not having a shepherd. So He began to teach them many things." (Mark 6:34, NKJV)
Have you ever noticed that before Jesus physically fed the people, He fed them spiritually? Samaritan's Purse is working in a similar way with millions of children around the world through Operation Christmas Child. We know all about the shoeboxes filled with toys, educational items, and other goodies, but there's more to this project. On today's Footsteps, Travis Critcher points out that in conjunction with the shoeboxes, Samaritan's Purse is also taking many of these children through a twelve-lesson Bible study called The Greatest Journey.
