A Catholic priest named Father Patrick Peyton was well known for saying, "The family that prays together, stays together."  In a similar way, I maintain that, "The family that listens together, grows together."  I'm talking about Christian radio.  Imagine the benefits of families gathered around a radio, whether at home or in the car, listening together to Christian programs.  Questions would be raised.  Discussions would ensue.  Biblical principles would be instilled in the hearts and minds of both parents and children.  Well, it's happening.  According to Marshall Younger, a writer for Adventures in Odyssey, one of the "ultimate goals" for Odyssey is "that children would listen to it with their parents."  He refers to this concept as "a family event."  So, parents, let's be intentional about listening to Christian radio together with our kids.  Whether we're listening to audio dramas, Bible teaching programs, or music, it will make a difference in all of us.  Together, we will "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" (1 Peter 3:18a, ESV).
