The Bible has a lot to say about how believers should treat other people:

"So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets."  (Matthew 7:12, ESV)

"Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others."  (Philippians 2:4, ESV)

On today's Footsteps, TWR President Lauren Libby suggests that God even uses our suffering to benefit others.  In reality, this is a very biblical concept.  Here's one more passage for you:

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."  (2 Corinthians 1:3-4, ESV)
