As a boy, I had a huge collection of stuffed animals.  I gave all of them names and voices.  I even had one puppet.  He was a furry, brown dog named Dennis.  I still remember the low and slow voice that I would use as Dennis would introduce himself to friends with "Hi, I'm Dennis Dawg."  So, why am I walking down memory lane?  Because I see the value in TWR's radio program Pedrito el Pulpo (Peter the Octopus).  You see, Pedrito is a puppet.  I also can easily understand why Pedrito's puppet shows are so popular with the kids in Venezuela.  He's cool!  But with Pedrito, it's more than entertainment.  Make sure you listen to today's Footsteps as TWR's Annabel Torrealba talks about the impact that Pedrito is having with the children of her home country.
