"If you just purpose it in your heart today--to make their day a little bit better--God will use that," suggests Jon Hull on today's Footsteps.

He's talking about speaking encouraging words, listening patiently, and showing kindness to our friends, neighbors, and coworkers. Can a few kind words really make a difference? The Bible says YES.

Here are three verses from Proverbs to consider as you listen to today's program:

"A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, and a word spoken in due season, how good it is!"  Proverbs 15:23, NKJV

"Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body."  Proverbs 16:24, ESV

"A word spoken at the right time is like gold apples in silver settings."  Proverbs 25:11, CSB
