Both my mother and grandmother had hands that contained twisted fingers and swollen joints due to arthritis.  But I don't think that their arthritic hands were nearly as severe as the hands of the "crippled" woman we hear about on today's Footsteps.  Make sure you tune in as Tim Whitehead, Executive Director of Galcom International Canada, takes us to the mountains of Peru for a touching story.
