After Twenty-six Years
According to TWR's Branko Bjelajac on today's Footsteps, twenty-six years ago, an application was filed for an FM radio frequency in Cote d'Ivoire in West Africa. And now, after all of these years of waiting, the license has been granted. Praise God!
I'm reminded of Abraham and Sarah. When God first told Abraham, "I will make of you a great nation" (Genesis 12:2, ESV), Abraham was already seventy-five years old. A few chapters later, we read that "Abraham was a hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him" (Genesis 21:5, ESV). Think about that timeline. Abraham and Sarah had to wait twenty-five years for the birth of their son. Still, God fulfilled his promise and gave Abraham "a great nation" of decendents. And now, concerning TWR, after waiting twenty-six years for this frequency, may our faithful God use this new station in Cote d'Ivoire to raise up a "great nation" of disciples of Jesus!
