Who Is Jesus?
"The real pivotal question ... comes down to 'Who is Jesus?" asserts Pete Walker on today's Footsteps. I cannot think of a more important question. The good news is that we can easily find the answer in Matthew 16:15-17 (ESV). In this passage, Jesus asks Simon Peter,
"'... who do you say that I am?' Simon Peter replied, 'You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.' And Jesus answered him, 'Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.'"
You see, the Lord God Almighty has clearly shown us that Jesus is His one and only Son, and this fact is vitally important to each and every one of us. Why? Let me point you to two more verses:
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16, ESV)
"And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12, ESV)
