The Cauldron of Fire
The Cauldron of Fire sounds more like a blockbuster movie or fantasy novel than the title of a Footsteps episode. But today's topic is not a work of fiction; it's a reality for many believers in Jesus. We're talking about persecution. As TWR's Nathan Anderson explains on today's program, "When we're asking people to come to Christ, we're asking them to step into the cauldron of fire." Just think about that statement for a moment. As TWR broadcasters, we know that when some of our listeners make that life-changing decision to follow Jesus, they will face tremendous persecution and possibly death because of their new faith. That's sobering. And yet, we must continue to share the Gospel with these people. The apostle Paul certainly understood this type of persecution, and he still pressed forward in proclaiming the Good News of Jesus:
"But whatever gain I had I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ." (Philippians 3:7-8, ESV)
So today, pray for your persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ, and pray as well for TWR as we minister to them.
