I Believed That Day
On the Day of Pentecost, after the Holy Spirit came upon the people "like a mighty rushing wind" (Acts 2:2, ESV), Peter preached to the crowd. Then we read, "So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls" (Acts 2:41, ESV).
About 1900 years later, a team of missionaries from the U.S. traveled to Annabel Torrealba's neighborhood in Venezuela for two weeks and shared the Gospel through "puppets and singing and playing basketball and volleyball" as she describes on today's Footsteps. She goes on to say that a missionary leader "explained to us how to get to Heaven." While there might not have been "three thousand souls" who came to accept Jesus, Annabel tells us, "I believed that day!"
