When the people of Israel fled Egypt, "God led the people around by the way of the wilderness toward the Red Sea" (Exodus 13:18a, ESV).  As Pharaoh and the Egyptian army pursued, the Israelites appeared trapped by the sea.  But God intervened!

"Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the LORD drove the sea back by a strong east wind all night and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.  And the people of Israel went into the midst of the sea on dry ground, the waters being a wall to them on their right hand and on their left." (Exodus 14:21-22, ESV)

On today's Footsteps, Miriam Neff, founder of Widow Connection, gives some advice concerning those "hard times" when we find ourselves paralyzed at a crossroads or In those instances when we're pressed up against "the sea."  What are we to do?  As Miriam simply explains, God will help you take "that little step ... and when He sees you put your toe in the water, He starts parting the sea."
