I find it interesting that if you look at secular articles, websites, and publications concerning the orphan situation in Africa, you will read that the crisis can be blamed on wars, diseases, poverty, crime, and natural disasters.  I have yet to find a secular source that mentions anything about absent fathers.  But on today's Footsteps, Wayne Craig maintains, "The root cause of the orphan crisis throughout all of Africa is the men."  Wayne serves with Every Man A Warrior--TWR's men's ministry, and he goes on to say that we must address the issue of "fatherlessness in the home."  Wayne's observation is nothing new in Christian circles.  I remember hearing a long-time missionary to West Africa make a similar point fifteen years ago.  In Africa, far too many men are absent from their families.  So today, I encourage you to pray for the Every Man A Warrior movement as it spreads across Africa.  May God use this small-group men's Bible study to change men, their families, and their culture for Christ.
