All About Angels
*An audio version of today's devotional is available on Leading The Way's MY Devotional podcast.
Some people mistakenly believe that because we cannot see into God’s heavenly realm, it does not exist. But it does, and there are at least five things that we need to know about its residents, God’s heavenly host, and their abilities:
· Angels have individual personalities. They have the capacity for intellect, emotion, free will, and personality. Each one has an identity. The focus of their existence is to worship and to praise God.
· Angels never die.
· Angels do possess bodies, but not physical bodies. Their bodies are terrestrial or celestial. Heavenly bodies are incorruptible and indestructible. Concerning time and space, these bodies have no limitation.
· Angels were created to live within a heavenly sphere.
· Angels are divided into different ranks. Each one has responsibilities. In Colossians 1:16, we learn that angels are divided into four different categories: thrones, powers, rulers, and authorities.
Just as there are heavenly hosts carrying out the mission of God, there are also fallen angels working to create sin and havoc among believers. However, God is your strong tower. As His child, He surrounds you and protects you. Run to Him in your time of need.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your heavenly realms and for the heavenly host. Thank You for being my strong tower of protection and provision. I pray against fear of the enemy. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
“For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone” (Psalm 91:11-12).
