Like a Puzzle
My wife Kathy and I enjoy working jigsaw puzzles together. Most of our puzzles cover our kitchen table and contain 1000 pieces. Sometimes, we can work them in a day, but there have been times when it's taken much longer to complete a puzzle. Because of my experience with jigsaw puzzles, I clearly understand an illustration that Scott Murphy gives on today's Footsteps. Scott serves with Regeneration Reservation which encourages and equips American Indian believers in Jesus to carry the Gospel to their own people. It's not an easy process, and it often takes time. Quoting one Native American with whom Scott had shared the Gospel, "You know, it's like a puzzle in our culture. You have given us one more piece of the puzzle, but I still want to see the big picture." For those people, like Native Americans, who are slow to come to faith in Christ, we must not give up. Let's keep giving them "one more piece of the puzzle." One day, our Heavenly Father will make the "big picture" clear to them.
