Unconnected Africa
Frequently, I hear people talk about having seen a photo of someone using a cell phone in a remote part of Africa or in the middle of a huge desert. The obvious inference is that cell phone coverage and access to the internet is universal. That's just not true. Today's guest on Footsteps, TWR's Branko Bjelajac, recently showed me some statistics. Believe it or not, 46% of the population of Nigeria is unconnected. As for Kenya, 67% of the people are offline. And then there's Ethiopia where 83% of the people are not connected to the internet.(1) So, how can we reach all of these African people with the Gospel? Radio! Listen to today's program.
