An Eclipse of God
"We are living at a time where there is an eclipse of God," states Dr. Erwin Lutzer on today's Footsteps. "There are shadows all over the place; there's a lot of darkness; and people honestly don't know where to turn." You see, these lost and confused people are actually spiritually blind. The apostle Paul puts it this way:
"In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God." (2 Corinthians 4:4, ESV)
But we must not get discouraged in our evangelism. Why? Because ...
"Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!" (Isaiah 6:3b, ESV)
As dark as this world may seem, it is still completely filled with the glory of God. Scripture assues us that the LORD can be seen AND known, and as followers of Christ, it's our responsibility to introduce people to Him--to the One who declared,
"I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." (John 8:12, ESV)
Today, let's tell the world about Jesus!
