After a long run, a tennis match, or an uphill hike through the mountains, a cool bottle of water can be extremely refreshing.  You just can't wait to pour that thirst-quenching water into your parched mouth!  In a similar way, God's Word can be spiritually refreshing.  Here's how the writer of Psalm 119 describes it:

"I open my mouth and pant, because I long for your commandments." (Psalm 119:131, ESV)

On today's Footsteps, TWR's Harry Bettig shares how listeners in Afghanistan often find the Gospel to be "so different and refreshing."  May today's episode cause us all to pause and analyze if we desperately thirst for God's Word and find it to be completely satisfying and refreshing.
