We can be thankful for the fact that Jesus knows how to get our attention.  The conversion of Saul is a perfect example.

"Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest and asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.

"As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven.  then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, 'Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?'

"And he said, 'Who are You, Lord?'

"Then the Lord said, 'I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.  It is hard for you to kick against the goads.'" (Acts 9:1-5, NKJV)

Just as it is futile for an ox to vainly kick against a farmer's long, sharp, goading stick, it's foolish for us to fight against the Lord and His will.

On today's Footsteps, TWR's Harry Bettig shares the testimony of a listener in Turkiye who "heard a voice inside" of him say, "Why are you resisting?  You know the truth."  That sounds similar to Saul's conversion, doesn't it?  For the full story, listen to today's episode.  Then, if you're a believer in Jesus, thank the Lord for making Himself known to you.  However, if you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, please click on the link below and watch a video about "Knowing God."  Today just might be the day that our gracious and loving Lord gets your attention!
