Ukrainian Flags
Both of my two boys were involved in Scouting. In fact, my oldest son achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. I vividly remember a yearly tradition with the Cherokee Area Council of the Boy Scouts. For Memorial Day, the Scouts would place over 50,000 American flags at the graves of those buried in the gently rolling Chattanooga National Cemetery. To see row after row of white headstones decorated with small flags flapping in the breeze was both beautiful and emotionally moving.
TWR's Dirk Mueller had a similar experience when he traveled into Ukraine to spend time with the TWR-Ukraine staff. While traveling through that war-torn country, he noticed that all the cemeteries were filled with Ukrainian flags. These blue and yellow flags were placed in honor of the soldiers who lost their lives defending their country. Dirk tells more about his time in Ukraine on today's Footsteps. After listening to this episode, please pray for the TWR-Ukraine team as they continue to bravely and boldly minister to their fellow countrymen.
