The Transforming Power of the Gospel
TWR utilizes some of the world's most powerful radio transmitters, but the real power in our broadcasts is actually the content--"the transformation power of the gospel passing through the airwaves," declares Joseph Kebbie on today's Footsteps. Joseph serves as the Africa Director for New Life Africa Satellite Network, and on today's episode, he emphasizes how powerful the gospel truly is. Joseph is really just echoing the teaching of the apostle Paul in Romans 1:16 (NKJV):
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek."
So, how powerful is the gospel? A note in The MacArthur Study Bible explains:
"The English word 'dynamite' comes from this Greek word. Although the message may sound foolish to some, the gospel is effective because it carries with it the omnipotence of God. Only God's power is able to overcome man's sinful nature and give him new life."(1)
Wow! With complete certainty, I can state that nothing can be more powerful than "the omnipotence of God!"
