Fighting from Victory
Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. – Ephesians 6:12
Everything you do—every step you take as a child of God—interfaces with the unseen reality of His angels. Unfortunately, we also have to face the fact that Satan has forces at work in our world too. They have been given limited ability to work woeful events in our lives, but God is sovereign. Nothing that the enemy does can change the course of our lives once we have placed our feet on God’s roadway.
You will sometimes feel as though you are in an all-out spiritual war, but you must remember that you’re not alone, and the battle facing you is not yours to fight (2 Chronicles 20). God is the one who fights it for you. Your responsibility is to believe in Him and His eternal care for you. You will not go wrong when you place your trust in Jesus.
The apostle Paul reminds us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against Satan’s dark forces. He goes on to provide tremendous hope and protection for every believer when he instructs us to stand firm in our faith and take up the full armor of God each day (Ephesians 6:13-17).
Before your feet hit the floor in the morning, make sure that you claim God’s armor as your protection. His angels are all around you, but when you clothe yourself for battle with the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, their job is made swifter and surer. Also, read through Ephesians 6 and allow it to be a firm reminder that God is your true refuge and He has provided all that you need to live this life victoriously.
