Many people have said that a person’s last words are revealing because they show what has been most important for that person throughout life. What would Jesus say as he hung on the cross dying? What would Jesus say from his cross of pain?

The Night That Was Different From all Other Nights
It was Thursday of Jesus’ final week and danger was in the air. For four days Jesus had taught openly in the Temple. Now he was alone with his disciples sharing a Passover meal and telling them they were to remember something very different from their deliverance from Egypt, they must remember him and the sacrifice he would offer for the world.
The Wise and Foolish Virgins
Jesus and his disciples were on the Mount of Olives to the east of Jerusalem. They were looking over the great city and the activities in the Temple and thinking about the past week. Jesus was also telling them about the coming judgment upon the city for its refusal to heed the ways of God and in those statements he told the famous story of the wise and foolish virgins.
The Hypocrites, the Widow, and the End
The conflict between Jesus and the religious rulers was coming to a climax. Throughout his ministry the rulers had followed him, questioned him, and tested him. Now, Jesus brought the challenge to them in the temple.
