Way to Life Ministries was found by Dick Sanders, a long-time evangelist, who conducted evangelistic crusades around the UK almost 50 years ago. In 1960, he joined the Counties Evangelistic work, preaching before crowds of hundreds, thousands and eventually 10,000 during the 10th anniversary of the Way to Life Crusade. More than 300,000 people attended his services in a tent that held 1,000 people before it got swept away by the wind in 1972.

For almost 50 years, Rendezvous, along with another program by Dick, Way to Life, was broadcast in English around the world on various TWR shortwave and medium wave (AM) transmitters. Monday through Wednesday Dick taught through a specific book of the Bible, while the other days of the week he had topical messages, designed to be more evangelistic.
