From Ephesians 6:1-9, Gideon Levytam directs our attention to the apostle Paul’s appeal to children, fathers, servants and masters. All believers are called to submit to the Lord’s instruction in His Word. If children are to receive the promised blessing from God, they must obey and honour their fathers and mothers. God had commanded His people Israel to honour their father and their mother, that their days may be long upon the land which the LORD God had given them. Fathers are not to provoke their children to anger, but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Employees are called to do their work faithfully, remembering that they are servants of the Lord Jesus the Messiah. Employers are reminded to treat their workers well, keeping in mind that they are accountable to the living God who knows all things. It is the will of the Lord to bless His people who seek to live their lives for His honour and glory.
