I wish my son was a little like Tucker.

We didn’t just compare our kid to his friend, did we? Seriously? How many times have we pointed out young people in the youth group, neighbors, or even siblings, saying things like, “If you want to model your life after somebody, model it after Zach or Anna.” Kids are tender. That’s kind of like saying, “I love you, but I’d love you more if you were like somebody else.” God uniquely and wonderfully made our kids to be in our care. They need to know that we love them and appreciate them for their uniquenesses. Think about it, if we’re always comparing them to other kids, they’re going to start comparing US to other parents. We don’t want THAT, do we? Remember, Paul cautioned us not to compare ourselves with others—why do it with our kids?
