My kid doesn’t believe—I’m heartbroken.

One of the worst conversations I’ve ever had with one of my kids was when they told me they didn’t believe in God. They’ve rejected our faith. A faith we’ve taught them since the day they were born. How does this happen? What about that Scripture that says, “Train up a child in the way of the Lord, and when they’re old they won’t depart from it”? If you read Proverbs, you know it’s a GUIDE to wisdom. Not necessarily a promise. It guides us in how and how NOT to be a parent. It instructs a child that the decisions they make will have lasting effects on their lives physically and spiritually. But the Holy Spirit is the one who convicts, leading them to Jesus. So what do we do? PRAY.
