From Chapter 5:1-10 on the study of the Book of Hebrews (אֶל־הָעִבְרִים), brother Gideon Levytam directs us to the person of the Lord Jesus the Messiah, who now serves the office as the Great High Priest. God instructed Israel to ordain a high priest, such as Aaron, from the tribe of Levi. The high priest was to serve as a compassionate mediator between God and His people, by offering sacrifices to God on their behalf, for their sins. Likewise, Jesus the Messiah was ordained by God to be a Great High Priest, not after the order of the tribe of Levi, whose priests died and had to be replaced, but rather, after the order of Melchisedec, מַלְכִּי־צֶ֨דֶק֙, whose priesthood never ended. Jesus, the sinless God-man, is able to represent all believers before God as a great High Priest, because when He was here on earth, He learned obedience by the things which He Himself suffered, becoming the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him.
