From Chapter 6:1-14 of the study of the Book of Esther (אֶסְתֵּר), brother Gideon Levytam presents before us the Providence of God, who throughout the ages has protected His people Israel. Queen Esther invited king Ahasuerus and Haman the Agagite to a second banquet, planning to inform the king of Haman’s plan to kill all the Jews. God orchestrated an event which which brought about the exaltation of Mordecai, and the humiliation of Haman. The providence of God caused king Ahasuerus to have a sleepless night, resulting in his reading that Mordecai the Jew had saved his life. When Haman came to speak to the king regarding having Mordecai hung on the gallows, the king questioned him about what should be done to the man whom the king delights to honour? To Haman’s utter shame, it was not him whom the king wanted to honour, it was Mordechai. Haman had to parade about Mordechai on the king's horse declaring, thus shall it be done unto the man whom the king delights to honour.
