Daniel 9 is sometimes referred to as “Daniel’s prophecy of the seventy weeks.” But more than half the chapter is a record of Daniel’s prayer. According to Daniel 7, Daniel’s prayer life was an important part of his relationship with God. His commitment to God in prayer caused him to be thrown into the lion’s den. And here again, prayer surfaces as an integral part of Daniel’s spiritual life and practice.
