It is often very difficult to tell if a particular event or series of events are the direct judgment of God when the events happen. Things also happen because we simply live in a fallen world, and without an obvious or direct meaning from God’s hand. 4. It is cruel to say a terrible event is due to the judgment of God when it is not (as in Job). 5. God will use strange things as the instruments of His judgment (as in Habakkuk). 6. The judgments of God are settled in eternity – not necessarily in this life. 7. The judge of all the earth will do what is right. Genesis 18:25: “Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?” 8.
