From Chapter 23:23-25 of the book of Leviticus (וַיִּקְרָא), brother Gideon Levytam shows the significance of The Feast of Trumpets, the fifth of the Seven Feasts of the LORD. In Hebrew, this feast is called "The Memorial of the blowing of the Trumpets” (זִכְרוׂן תְרוּעָה), as well as "The Day of the blowing of the Trumpets” (יִום תְרוּעָה). In Leviticus 23:23-25, God commanded His people to blow the shofar on the first day of Tishrei, without giving them the reason why. The Feast of Trumpets is the first of the Fall Feasts of the LORD, and prophetically, it looks forward to the regathering of the Jewish people back to their own land, in anticipation of their national salvation. This Feast is also called Rosh Hashanah (רֹאש הַשָנָה), the head of the year, It is a solemn day, as the Jewish people believe that on that day, God sits as a judge, judging each person as to their future destiny.
